CPR 4-24-2012 TIGRESSES LEND SPICE TO EMPRESS SELECTION


The last photos sent from the Carroll County Agricultural Center "Days of Wine and Roses" Cat Pageant, er, rather, Cat Show, were of feisty looking Toygers.  The first Toyger to ask that her photo be forwarded to the Empress Jury was named Tonya. (Photos 1 and 2). Tonya the Tigress supposedly has a sweet disposition, but her responses to the Empress Interview Survey administered by Virginia and Melanie gave Catsby pause, or paws, to be more precise.  In response to the question "What type of lubricant would you administer to help the Emperor get into his trousers?", Tonya laughed, and asked "Why would the Emperor need help getting into his trousers? Why would a cat even need to wear trousers?  Doesn't the Emperor wear no clothes?" Catsby found this response disconcerting.  He also was put off by the thought that Tonya, who is sleek and athletic like a tiger, might easily out leap him and out race him to the morning breakfast bowl.  The last photo was of a Toyger named Charlie. (Photo 3). Charlie, upon in depth questioning by Melanie and Virginia (well, actually, it was volunteered by Charlie's owner) turned out to have the "blue bow tied bunny problem", in that she was apparently a he, and despite Catsby's progressive views regarding transgendered stuffed animals, it was decided that the Empire was not yet ready for a Boy Toyger Empress.  Still, in another time, another place, thinks Catsby..........
